Unfortunately, the first bit of news is not a good one, as some of you maybe aware Inspector Norbury has injured his back and will be off for a while so I will be covering in his absence. I have worked in the Surrey Heath Neighbourhood team as a Sergeant before and have spent the majority of my 14 years service in the Surrey Heath area, so feel I have a good sound knowledge of the area. I remember from my days as a Sergeant that you are all very supportive and I hope to give you my support while I am here.
From the previous HeathWatch you were told about the restructure. I am pleased to say that this is nwo fully embedded and as previously stated has had no impact on the level of front-line staff. In relation to staff, I am pleased to announce we have some new additions to our team. PC 3929 Scott Green, who is working alongside PC 580 Ian Jarrett, and will replace him as the Frimley and Frimley Green Neighbourhood Officer when Ian retires on 30th November 2008 and PC 3266 Derek Fry who is covering the Lightwater area while PC Worger is on maternity leave.
To give an update around our crime levels, I am pleased to report that we are seeing a reduction in overall crime, which is positive. May I remind everyone, with the warm weather, that you shut and lock windows when you are out, and if going away on holiday you ask neighbours or friends to keep an eye on your premisis. Remember, our Crime Reduction Officer PC Robin Wood and your local neighbourhood team are happy to offer advice around security if required.
I wish you a safe and fun-filled end of Summer.
